Fluxys Settlement Prices
To ensure the reliable and efficient operation of the transmission grid the total quantities of natural gas entering the transmission grid of Fluxys Belgium must, on a daily basis, be in balance with the total quantities of natural gas leaving the transmission grid or being consumed in Belgium.
During the gas day, as long as the market balancing position remains within the predefined upper and lower market thresholds, there is no intervention by Fluxys Belgium. In case the market balancing position goes beyond the upper (or lower) market threshold, Fluxys Belgium intervenes through a sale (or purchase) transaction on the spot Gas ZTP market for the quantity of the market excess (or shortfall) and settles in cash that quantity with the grid user(s) contributing to such imbalance. Such settlement is done in proportion of their individual contribution to the market imbalance.
At the end of the gas day, the difference between the total quantities entering a given zone – high-calorific (BHZONE) or low-calorific (BLZONE) – and the total quantities consumed by final customers or leaving the zone for an adjacent transmission grid, taking into account the net confirmed trades of the grid user, is settled to zero by a settlement in cash with each grid user.
The price reference used for such settlements will correspond to the price of the transactions done by Fluxys Belgium on the spot Gas ZTP market. The tables below provides information on the last 5 settlements relating to the BHZONE, and BLZONE. A negative settlement quantity indicates a situation of market excess as a result of which Fluxys Belgium sold gas on the exchange. A situation of market shortfall is indicated by a positive settlement quantity and resulted in Fluxys Belgium buying gas on spot Gas ZTP.
